Orders have grown several times over since March, with much of the growth in hickory shafts, leather grips and whipping thread. The shop is adding deeper stock on those supplies, expanding its Club Builder to irons, and committing to fast shipping and a reply within one business day.

Buying hickory shouldn't take two weeks
If you've been at this a while, you know the drill. You find the shaft or the head you need on eBay. You message the seller. You wait. A week goes by, then two. Maybe it ships, maybe it doesn't, and you're halfway through a build with a club sitting on the bench.
We're done with that, and we figure you are too.

Supplies took off, and it caught us by surprise
We opened expecting most people to come for finished vintage clubs. Plenty still do. What we didn't see coming was how many of you are building your own.
Hickory shafts are now our biggest supply line. Most folks who buy them buy more than one. A lot of you come back about two weeks later for grips, thread or build-up tape, because you're mid-project and need the next part. Suede leather grips are our top seller by unit count.
So that's where we're putting the money. Deeper stock on the hickory shafts and leather grips you reorder most. When you're halfway through a build, the part should be on the shelf.
The Club Builder now does irons
The Club Builder lets you pick an antique head, match it to a hickory shaft, pick a grip, and either have us assemble it or ship you the parts to do it yourself. Up to now it's been mostly woods: drivers, brassies (a hickory-era 2-wood) and spoons (a 3- or 4-wood).
Now it does irons. More period iron heads, iron shafts ready to fit, and the same $30-per-club assembly we do on woods. If you've got a playing set with a hole in it, say a mashie (roughly a 5-iron) or a niblick (roughly a 9-iron), you can fill it here without digging through auction listings.

Getting it to you fast, for less
The goal is simple. Original hickory clubs and supplies in your hands quickly, at the lowest cost we can manage. Hickory golf shouldn't be something only a few people can afford to try.
